Windows 7 (Quick Review)
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, and I say it was the easiest Microsoft upgrade. After using 7 for a month or two I have found it is extremely faster than Vista. Boot up is stunning, on my computer, once I hit the ON button, it shows the Dell logo for a second or two, then the windows logo/progress logo then it is login time. Even shutdown time it improved, maybe like 30 seconds until my computer is off. I did some testing and for my computer, with a core i7, and 12 gigs of ram, (And big programs open like iTunes and Photoshop) it took one minute for it to restart and login. When I had vista on the same computer (With the same programs open) it took well over two minutes. Every thing in 7 looks, acts, and behaves much better then Vista. For example the updated taskbar is just amazingly good looking, useful, and kinda fun with the transparency and colors. Going from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium was easy, it copied every file into 7, I had just installed a Windows Side Bar gadget on my desktop, and amazingly it was in the exact same place as Vista desktop. I will be posting updates, extensions, and tips on this post, and future posts, but for now, I say that Windows 7 is the best to date Windows system ever. This is what Vista should of been.
Tips: I have found some very useful tips in Windows 7! If you hit START + 1(2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) you will launch the program that is that far from the start button. Next tip is when using the amazing snap feature, select a window and click START + any arrow key and it will snap the window accordingly. This is great if you have multiple displays like me.
Thats all the quick tips I have for now, I will be adding more later!
